LIVES, NOT KNIVES

The JAFFA Project

Launched in 2023, The JAFFA Project is a North East Project providing support and education to young people struggling with mental health and suicidal ideation. Named in memory of Jamie McKitten.

Breaking the stereotypes and making a positive change

Welcome to The JAFFA Project, where we are committed to challenging stereotypes and empowering young men to create positive change in their lives and communities. In a world where societal expectations often dictate narrow definitions of masculinity, we believe in fostering environments where young men can explore their potential, express themselves authentically, and thrive beyond limitations.

The JAFFA Project is dedicated to providing support and education to young men through a variety of impactful initiatives. Our mission is clear: to break down stereotypes, promote healthy behaviors, and cultivate a sense of empowerment among the youth. We recognize that traditional notions of masculinity can be restrictive and harmful, leading to issues such as poor mental health, limited emotional expression, and barriers to personal growth. Through our comprehensive approach, we aim to dismantle these stereotypes and empower young men to embrace their individuality with confidence and pride.

What we do to make a change for mens mental health

Educational Workshops

One of the cornerstones of The JAFFA Project is our educational workshops, designed to engage young men in critical conversations about masculinity, gender equality, mental health, and personal development. These workshops provide a safe and inclusive space for participants to explore their beliefs, challenge societal norms, and develop essential life skills. By facilitating open dialogue and interactive activities, we aim to equip young men with the knowledge and tools they need to navigate the complexities of adolescence and adulthood with resilience and authenticity.

Physical Activity Projects

Physical activity is not only beneficial for physical health but also plays a crucial role in promoting mental well-being and building confidence. Through our physical activity projects, we encourage young men to discover the joy of movement, teamwork, and self-improvement. Whether it's through sports, outdoor adventures, or fitness challenges, we provide opportunities for participants to break free from stereotypes and discover their strengths in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Video Content

In today's digital age, video content has the power to reach and inspire audiences like never before. The JAFFA Project produces engaging and thought-provoking videos that address relevant issues facing young men today. From personal stories of resilience to practical tips for self-care, our video content aims to spark conversations, challenge stereotypes, and promote positive change. By harnessing the power of storytelling and visual media, we strive to connect with young men on a deeper level and inspire them to embrace their authentic selves.

At The JAFFA Project, we believe that every young man deserves the opportunity to break free from stereotypes and pursue their full potential. Join us in our mission to challenge the status quo, foster inclusivity, and empower the next generation of changemakers. Together, we can make a difference—one workshop, one physical activity, and one video at a time.
